   A former member of the Renegades biker gang was sentenced Thursday to   
   two years in jailfor a vicious attack   
   on three people in Prince George last December.   
   Jason Dennis Townsend, 37, was convicted of two counts of aggravated   
   assault and one count of assault causing   
   bodily harm for the assault on two men and a woman outside a local   
   nightclub early Dec. 6.   
   The entire incident was captured on video, showing Townsend punching a   
   man in the face, then kicking him after   
   he fell to the ground, smashing his head on a brick wall in the process.   
   A woman who tried to stop Townsend was punched in the face and knocked   
   out. The third victim, a man who   
   also tried to intervene, was punched in the face and then curb-stomped   
   by Townsend.   
   Prince George RCMP media officer, Cpl. Craig Douglass, said Thursday   
   that residents of the city are safer with   
   Townsend off the streets.   
   “These were vicious and unprovoked attacks that left three persons in   
   the hospital with serious injuries. Jason   
   Townsend’s actions on that night will undoubtedly affect many lives for   
   years to come,” Douglass said.   
   Townsend fled after the attacks and was arrested several days later in   
   Dease Lake, about 1,000 kilometres   
   north of Prince George.   
   In Prince George ProvincialCourt Thursday afternoon, he was handed 18   
   months and 30 months for the two   
   most serious assaults and another six months for the third attack.   
   With pre-trial credit, he’llserve another two years, followed by two   
   years probation.   
   Townsend, who had earlier convictions for assault, drug trafficking and   
   firearms possession, was once a fullpatch member of the now-defunct   
   Renegades biker gang.   
   Based in Prince George and linked to the drug trade in northern B.C.,   
   the Renegades were formally affiliated to   
   the Hells Angels and described by police as an HA “puppet club.”   
   But the club was disbanded after the murder of one former president and
