Kinder Morgan's injunction fails to move

Time for even more protesters to join the ranks at the protest site. The
province hasn't got the jail space or the courtroom time to process the charges
   against hundreds of protesters.
Remember Clayoquot and remember the very great win for the opponents of clear
   cuts of the rainforests.

   Remember who Kinder Morgan are:
   - Kinder Morgan is a company headquartered in Downtown Houston, Texas. It is
the fourth largest energy company in North America.
   - Kinder Morgan has been cited by the U.S. government in 24 incidents which led
to five federal enforcement actions from 2006 to 2014.
   - Kinder Morgan was founded in 1997 when a group of investors acquired the
general partner of a small, publicly traded pipeline limited partnership (Enron
   Liquids Pipeline, L.P.)

   - Trans Mountain Oil Pipeline
In Canada, Kinder Morgan operates the Trans Mountain oil pipeline which links
Alberta with Vancouver, BC, as well as the Cochin natural gas pipeline between
Western Canada and the US Midwest. In 2013, Kinder Morgan completed the filing
of its application to the Canadian National Energy Board ("NEB") for building a
second parallel pipeline to Trans Mountain, which would nearly triple the
transportation capacity of Trans Mountain from 300,000 to 850,000 barrels per
day, for an estimated investment of $5.4 billion. This expansion would enable
the export of larger volumes of Alberta's bituminous sands oil to the US and to
   Asian countries.

   - In 2011, PHMSA cited Kinder Morgan for these safety violations:

failing to maintain update maps showing pipeline locations,
failing to test pipeline safety devices,
failing to maintain proper firefighting equipment,
failing to inspect its pipelines as required, and
failing to adequately monitor pipes’ corrosion levels.[21]

   - Accidents

In Texas from 2003 to 2014, Kinder Morgan experienced 36 "significant
incidents" resulting in fatalities or hospitalization, fires, explosions, or
   spills.
Throughout the U.S. since 2003, Kinder Morgan and its subsidiaries' pipelines
have been responsible for at least 180 spills, evacuations, explosions, fires,
   and fatalities in 24 states.

   - Richard Kinder is still making political contributions. In 2011, he gave
thousands of dollars to top Republicans like House Speaker John Boehner and
   David Dewhurst, a Texas
   candidate for the US Senate.
Even the family’s ostensibly charitable foundation, the Kinder Foundation,
   may
be pushing a political agenda. The Foundation contributed $10 million to the
   George W.
Bush Presidential Center in part to support the Bush Institute, the Center’s
policy arm that promotes public policies related to “free market
   capitalism”
   and energy production.

Kinder Morgan pipeline protesters on Burnaby Mountain face injunction deadline
Protesters ordered to stop blocking survey work by 4 p.m. PT but rather than
   leave, more arrived

Protesters blocking survey work by pipeline crews on Burnaby Mountain in B.C.
were given until 4 p.m. PT today to clear out, or risk arrest.
Kinder Morgan injunction - Burnaby Mountain - 2

A still taken just after the 4 p.m. PT deadline shows protesters gathered on
Burnaby Mountain near one of two sites where Kinder Morgan plans to drill two
   survey boreholes. (Sea Shepherd Vancouver/uStream)

But, rather than dismantle tents and barricades and leave the conservation area
and park on the mountain's west side, more protesters arrived, growing their
presence to roughly 200 people shortly before the deadline.

The injunction was granted by a judge on Friday after the company argued
protesters have been interfering with survey and drilling work it needs to
complete for submission to the National Energy Board on the proposed Trans
   Mountain pipeline expansion.

The court injunction states that protesters must remove their camps and
barricades from areas where Kinder Morgan is trying to drill bore holes for a
   proposed tunnel under Burnaby Mountain.

Karl Perrin, who speaks for Burnaby Residents Opposed to Kinder Morgan
Expansion (BROKE), says the protesters will find ways to continue to oppose the
   project.

Mountain, in opposition to Kinder Morgan plans to bore through the municipal
park to expand its Trans Mountain pipeline. (CBC)

"We're going to stand on the safe side of the street. We'll be dressed in black
and holding candles for a silent vigil. I'm going to be making up a black
coffin which will say, 'Kinder Morgan greed kills justice,'" said Perrin.

Perrin says, BROKE will also be busy raising legal funds.

Kinder Morgan is suing the organization and some of its members for $5 million
   for trespassing.
