   Yes.  The universe is inequitable.  I think there will be   
   poor while there are still children of men in the world.   
   And while it can have immediate good effect, charity is   
   limited to providing comfort, sustenance, and the liberty   
   (education, etc.) to change one's lot.  I believe our   
   civilization lives or dies on that last one.
