. . . And it will be no problem for the first Canadian MP with the courage to   
   come out as gay.  He has been a strong advocate for assisted dying, for gay   
   and human rights, for protection of old-growth forests in BC and for many   
   environmental protections.   
      
   He stood in defence of Cuba against US sanctions, Palestine against Israeli   
   aggression, S Africa  against apartheid, and a myriad of other issues that   
   have finally caught up with his forward thinking.   
      
   He will have no problem winning against the current MP for the Burnaby   
   district he wants to win.  Liberal Terry Beech once voted *against* the Kinder   
   Morgan (now Trans  Mountain) pipeline, then after Trudeau endorsed it, he   
   suddenly switched to "find    
   ways to make it better".   
      
   Svend Robinson was never known to be a waffler or to lack courage for his   
   convictions.  He - like two other New Democrat MPs - would not be afraid to be   
   arrested during a protest.  Terry Beech said he 'didn't want to get arrested,   
   but would be sure those    
   who did were treated with respect'.  Wow.  Conviction that might shake the   
   world . . . .   
      
   Svend has aged well, don't you think?? (photo in article)   Lots of pain, lots   
   of successes = lots of experience.  And now willing to share it with us again.
