Please allow me to add in a bit of my own learning on this verse' content. .

You do know that the original Koine Greek isn't too specific for 
prepositions? It could be "in" or "on" the hand/wrist (one word for this 
area, equiv to "bras" in Latin)

I never worried about the literal number, because the real concern is
ACCEPTING it as your mark of allegiance tot he Beast.

& the Number is really just a string of Roman numeral, all of them in order,
ujp to 500 (D), a la: DCLXVI (so roughly 654321 in English. . )

In Hebrew, 666 is also a word: Har Megido ("Armageddon", the mountain of
Megido)

Those dummies whoi tattooed 666 on themselves, thinking "six, six, six) 
didn't do so with truer understanding, so they're not in trouble, but they
should be ashamed of marking the body God put a soul into, though!

The number is not "six six six, it's "6-hundred, sixty & six" literally, as
written in the original Scripture.

Theories abound; My two faves are:
a) ot was chosen just as a funky pattern (654321) because patterns werte
thought to be magical
& my fave:
b) 6 is the number of man (created on the 6th day; 7 = 
perfection/comnpletion, so, as Hebrew uses repetition for emphasis ("I say 
say to you" becomes "Truly, I say to you")

comparative = said twice
superlative = 3 times.

So 666 emphathises that the Beast falls as far short of God as is possible.

Man is not completed, that's why God did not look, after that creation &
declare it "good" as every other day of creation.

It is said that the angel were speaking with God after the creation of Man, 
to point out how they noted that each day He alternated between creating
something "above" & something "below" but they knerw He planned a 7-day
Creation, so how would He maintain the pattern of equality?

God replied that on thr 7th day He would create something that allows man to
live both "above" & "below" (spiritually), that being the 7th day -- the
Sabbath, when man can rest ("take a breath") as even the Divine(spirit) did,
but yet remain a man(flesh)

The angels then rejoiced at the beauty of this! & the rest, my friend, is
history. . .

It's our job to finish creatoin of ourselves, by polishing ourselves to 
always be of a higher order than we started off as (animalistic) & to elevate
ourselves to be One with the Creator upon our deaths.

I'm sorry, but I don't ascribe to the Roman teaching that we are born evil.
God don't create junk -- we are born with our souls in balance & our choices
either elevate them or dirty them. . .

Do we wish to live so one day we will join with our heavenly Father, or do we
prefer to live so we eventually live in the soil with the animals & their
dung, with our souls destroyed as unworthy of eternity?

I've made my choice. . . & try hard every day to live like it.

The problem with saying every person is born worthy of death for Adam's sin 
is it contradicts God's teaching that nobody shall be put to death for the
sins of his father (unlike in the Hammurabbi Code) but each shall be put to
death only for his own capital crimes.

The Romans introduced so much error & lies into Christianity, but the Truth
never falters for those who, as Jesus instructed, search & seek intently for
the truth.

& the praying to saints. . . BAH!!! Solomon prayed, knowing he was currently
highly blessed, that all who seek God directly will be heard & their prayers
answered.  Going to another in prtayer is like worshipping the sun for the
heat it gives, when it was God alone Who created the sun & the light & warmth
it gives!  Pagans worship that which is only creation(stars, trees, winds).
True knowers of God worship Him alone & directly.

Okay, sorry, just waxing poetic today. . 

Sorry if I've offended any(e.g. those of the Roman or Greek churches) today;
it's not my intent. I'm a Truth Teller & I'll always tell the truth. "Do not
bear false witness" really means "Bear true witness" & is the equivalent to 
"I swear to tell the whole truth & nothing but the truth, so help me, God"
