Do you have a node like that looks similar to

node 1:396/45@fidonet -md bbs.sursum-corda.com:24554 xxxxxxx

Make sure the domain name you put here is working with whatever tool
you have, nslookup or dig. The port number is optional and will use the
24554 default, it should be separated from the hostname with a colon.

My guess is you did a type on the hostname. 


That said, it looks like you might be relying on binkd's dns to do the
resolving. To make sure your resolver is working
 
To look up my bbs at 1:124/5016 I'd use

$ dig f5016.n124.z1.binkp.net +short
endofthelinebbs.com.
192.138.210.158
