There was a half-hearted attempt to change German place       names, and German Shepherds and Dachshunds got different titles but       there was no attempt to intern American citizens of German extraction.       Of course, that would have been about 25% of the country.              It was a lot easier to demonize the Japanese. My brother was a Marine       aviator in the Pacific so I was brought up to avoid any Japanese       products. About 40 years later he showed up in his motorhome with a       Toyota Tercel in tow, saying "I never thought I would do it..."              Now it's the Russians that are bad, bad, bad.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
