   HARVARD, Mass. —   
   A Massachusetts math teacher has been arrested on charges of   
   receipt and possession of child pornography, according to the US   
   Attorney’s Office.   
      
   Warren Anderson, 26, of Lowell, was charged with one count each   
   of receipt and possession of child pornography. He was ordered   
   held pending a probable cause and detention hearing next week.   
      
   Anderson is a high school math teacher in the Narraganset School   
   District, which serves the towns of Templeton and Phillipston.   
      
   According to court records, Anderson was interviewed as part of   
   an ongoing investigation into the online trade of child   
   pornography through the use of Kik messenger. Anderson admitted   
   to accessing websites on the dark web to obtain child   
   pornography, investigators said.   
      
   The US Attorney’s Office said investigators found a video in   
   Anderson’s possession that depicted a man “repeatedly sexually   
   assaulting a naked 4-year-old girl, and an image of a child   
   between the ages of 3- and 5-years old -- with visible tears in   
   her eyes -- being sexually assaulted by an adult male.”   
      
   The school district said Anderson has been placed on leave until   
   further notice and it is cooperating with investigators.   
      
   “We have been advised by the Department of Homeland Security and   
   local authorities that at this time there is no evidence of   
   localized victimization of any student, past or present, during   
   Mr. Anderson’s two-year tenure with the district,” District   
   Superintendent Christopher Casavant said in a statement.   
      
   Receiving child pornography carries a sentence of five years to   
   20 years in prison; the charge of possession of child   
   pornography carries a sentence of no greater than 10 years in   
   prison.
