   A former teacher at Timber Creek High School was arrested after   
   he was caught having a sexual relationship with a student, an   
   arrest affidavit said.   
      
   Austin Michael Pearce, 28, taught agriculture at the school last   
   year.   
      
   Pearce took a job at a school in St. Petersburg this year, but   
   kept in contact with the boy, the affidavit said. Pearce would   
   receive explicit messages via social media apps, the affidavit   
   said.   
      
   On Saturday, the family dog knocked over the boy’s phone. His   
   mother picked it up and saw the messages, the affidavit said.   
   She then called the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and   
   detectives began investigating.   
      
   Pearce was arrested Tuesday on charges of sexual activity with a   
   minor, unnatural and lascivious act and possessing material   
   depicting a sexual performance by a child. He was taken to the   
   Pinellas County Jail and has since posted a $3,000 bond.   
      
   Principal Kelly Paduano said in a letter to parents Pearce   
   worked at the school for a year and left for personal reasons.   
   The alleged incidents did not occur while he was at the school,   
   she added. She said the school was cooperating with the   
   investigation.
