   SOMERVILLE, Tex. (KBTX)- A Somerville High School teacher was   
   arrested Thursday after allegations were brought forward of an   
   improper relationship with an 18-year-old student.   
      
   According to a sergeant with the Department of Public Safety,   
   Christopher Michael Coronado, 43, has been charged with improper   
   relationship between an educator and student.   
      
   Investigators believe the improper relationship took place at   
   the high school as recently as this month.   
      
   The following message has been posted to the Somerville ISD   
   Facebook page:   
      
   "A Somerville ISD employee, Chris Coronado was arrested for   
   engaging in an improper relationship with a student. Upon   
   learning of the allegation, the District immediately reported it   
   to the appropriate law enforcement entities. The District   
   believes this is an isolated incident, but encourages anyone who   
   may have additional information to report to the District and/or   
   law enforcement. Mr. Coronado will not be back at the campus or   
   District. This matter is being investigated by the District and   
   law enforcement. The District will continue to cooperate with   
   law enforcement while this is pending in the criminal justice   
   system.   
      
   As always, the safety and well-being of our students is the   
   District’s highest priority. We encourage open communication   
   between students, parents, and the District, and urge you to   
   report any inappropriate conduct that students witness or   
   experience.
