   A substitute teacher was jailed for having sex with a 16 year-   
   old boy she met in detention. Allyson Moran, 27, a substitute   
   teacher and soccer coach at Stockbridge High School in Michigan,   
   admitted to the affair that began while the boy was being   
   punished in the 2016-2017 school year. The two began   
   communicating through Snapchat- where the married teacher   
   eventually sent nude selfies to the teenager.

   In Michigan the age of consent is 16, but it increases to 18   
   when an adult is in a position of authority – such as a teacher   
   like Moran. Last March, Moran sent a photo of herself ‘in a robe   
   that showed some part of her breasts,’ according to the police   
   report. ‘I don’t do these things,’ she wrote to the boy.   
      
   The boy’s father, who saw his son’s phone, told police that he   
   saw two topless photos that featured Moran who ‘did not have   
   underwear on.’ The two continued to flirt and had sex twice in a   
   spare bedroom in Moran’s house   
      
   Eventually, the police discovered the affair and brought Moran   
   in for questioning, although they did not reveal how the teacher   
   was busted. Initially, Moran denied that the two had sex – but   
   police had seen the photos she sent and asked her about the   
   purple robe and hip tattoo that could be seen in the pictures.   
   ‘You’re right. (He) came to my house’, she told the state cops.   
      
   ‘I don’t remember exactly when. I don’t remember dates at all.   
   (He) visited me, we had sex the one night.’ Moran later admitted   
   that she had sex with the boy twice, but insisted that it was   
   because of ‘a mutual want’ and the boy ‘was pursuing just as   
   much as she was.’ On Wednesday, she was sentenced to 25 months   
   to 15 years in prison for third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
