Strange times going on..  The main Canadian stock market (TSX) hit a
record high briefly today and it makes little sense. With the Tariff
wars going on you'd think investors would be nervous and it would be
low, rather than the highest ever..

Wishful thinking?

Anyways, it hit me more today because I have some GIC investments
about to pay out that have to be renewed or put into something else.

It feels like something guaranteed would make more sense than
putting it into stock market based funds that might drop suddenly,
although the guaranteed safe investments have greatly dropped the
past 2 years and are currently paying less than 1/4 the return that
most mutual funds are paying so it's hard to talk yourself into it.

I suppose our new Prime Minister Carney must be doing some things
right to keep the big investors confidence this high..
