Anyone willing to predict what this week's voter turnout will  
be?

In 2022 is was the lowest ever, and it was summer!  This year  
there are at least two things that might contribute to a low  
turnout: [1] the post storm weather a week ago, and [2] this  
being a truly unnecessary election.

"While the Progressive Conservatives may have won a sweeping
victory Thursday night, a large majority of Ontarians decided
not to bother heading to the polls.

"The province recorded the lowest voter turnout in history
during the 2022 election, with just about 43.5 per cent of
eligible voters casting a ballot according to preliminary
Elections Ontario results.

"Of the just over 10.7 million registered voters in the
province, this equals just over 4.6 million votes cast.

My town had a scheduled townhall meeting of the candidates for  
my riding a few days ago, and [1] very few people turned up,  
and [2] two of the considered primary leaders (PC and Liberal)  
were no shows! Perhaps the 4 Nations hockey series was a factor  
since that was on the same night.  Dunno.
