I'm not saying I agree with the banishing of thoughts.
I'm just saying I see the logic in it.
If taken to extremes then obsessing over something may give you the courage
   to try it.

And also, if someone were to think "Well I am already committing a sin by
thinking about it, so I might as well earn my punishment" and go ahead and
   do it.

Thoughts are perfectly healthy and natural, and I don't belive you should go
to hell for thinking something. Ever try to stop a thought that pops up
   into your head? SINNER!
There are certain times that you can go "This thought process will do me no
more good to dwell on, I'll try not to think about it anymore" is the
guideline I think the Bible is trying to put forth, in a heavyhanded way.
But then, thats a personal opinion.

And as for the Lesbianism thing, I confess that I havn't read the whole
Bible (I'm working on it, I want to make sure I know what I'm talking about)
but the thing I semi-quoted was something my friend told me, and I looked
that first passage up for verification. It is interesting to quote things
back at people who take the Bible literally.
   Thanks.
