And if you don't follow the life of Christ, that's OK,       hopefully you'll still reach heaven anyways"?              I seem to think that Buddhism is a little more forgiving; here's what       we're trying to achieve (Nirvana), here's how some people did it (the       Enlightened Ones), we'll help you as best we can to attain the goal       (teaching), but ultimately, it's up to you, and you might find a       different way.              I saw a crochet pattern in some rural craft store that read "Christ, let       me be your sheep" (or something like that). Which I find very insulting       to humanity, the idea that "Oh, we can't figure it out, let's just let       God decide, because I want to watch TV now." Very passive.              Same, too, with the Genesis story of the Tree of Knowledge...why       wouldn't God want man to know things? Why is it wrong to question       everything, including God itself?              I think it's because most major religions are designed to control       people, and the first part of controlling anyone is getting them to       accept that what you say is right and should be followed without question.              Of course, Lovecraft suggested that to question reality is to delve into       madness, but that's all right by me, asylums are cool.              --       Aaron Vanek              Reviews of my latest movie:       http://www.flipsidemovies.com/yellowsign.html       http://www.filmthreat.com/Reviews.asp?Id=4472       Also see: http://www.webnoir.com/yellowsign       Buy some of my movies at:       http://www.beyond-books.com/catalog/              "Getting married for insurance may sound silly,       but it's no joking matter.
