   I'd say more towards the mid-forties, and the basement belonging to   
   his mother, not grandmother.  But otherwise, pretty much dead on to   
   the image I picked up from the original post.   
      
   The presence of excessive drinking of cough syrup by the original   
   poster seems self-evident, and doesn't really need to be addressed.   
   It goes with the territory.
