   beats Prussia, Austria and everybody else in Western Europe but declines to

   drags on to some peacable resolution in the mid-19th century.  Not much room   
   in there for "pussiness."  Nor for a German renaissance that leads to so   
   much   
   as challenging French power, let alone crushing it.  So we enter modern   
   times   
   with France as next to being the sole global superpower, although   
   Britain and   
   Russia will probably never be conquerable.  God knows what happens in   
   Eastern   
   Asia.   
      
   Then some Middle Easterners get pissed off at their nations' big oil   
   customer,   
   the French Whatever, and attack it with terrorism.  I don't think you   
   get much   
   in the way of weak French knees.
