   Kerry is actually Austrian (or is it Czech). There was a news story   
   a month or two back where one Boston newspaper uncovered the fact   
   that Kerry's grandfather left the East European country where he   
   lived in the early 1900s to emigrate to London (I think) and then   
   to the US to escape persecution in the worsening political climate   
   of his home. The grandfather's brother did not leave and was later   
   killed in one of the Nazi death camps. It was said that Kerry had no   
   idea of his heritage and was totally stunned when the newpaper   
   told him about it.
