Yes, and the meek shall inherit the Earth.
You have expressed a valid point of view, but one that seems destined for
extinction.
Violence genes will be weeded out from the population over millenia, either
by early death and/or imprisonment, and the associated reduced opportunities
to procreate. This happens, when society develops beyond the tribal state,
and people are required to act civilized, or face consequences. Genetic
predispostion towards outbursts of violence, and a lack of self control, are
destined to be erraticated over time.
If you truly believe what you have posted, you are a dinosaur and just don't
know it yet.
Indeed, this sort of genetic adaptation of instinct speaks a case against
immortality. Genetic evolution of emotional predisposition (instinct) to
comform behaivor to the new environment of civilization, cannot proceed
without cycles of birth, procreation and death.
Far East Asian and European cultures are thousands of years past tribalism
and already have experienced a decline in violent and impulsive genes in the
general population.
Now, if we can only figure out a way to weed out the genes for fanatical
idealism, we can get rid of the ones who are not genetically inclined to
violence but see it as a tool. God save us from idealists.
However, you are missing the point. It is not really about living longer, It
is moslty about sustaining youthful health into later years, so you can
continue to be self sufficient., productive, and can party on dude. It is
more youth extension, than life extension.
People, don't want to deal with failing bodies and failing minds in the
later years of life.
