1984 "The Plate: A Royal Tradition" Hardcover Commemorative Book

I have for sale the out-of-print, 1st edition hardcover book "The Plate: A
Royal Tradition" by Louise E. Cauz (1984). The 1st edition hardcover
contains 301 pages of text as well as full-color, and black and white
photographs, profiling the 125 Years of the running of the King's and
   Queen's
   Plates of Horse-Racing.
   Front Jacket Excerpt:
"TO CELEBRATE THE ANNIVERSARY OF A GREAT TRADITION"
"This year marks the 125 anniversary of Canada's most prestious horse
racing event and north America's oldest continuously run stakes race-the
   Queens' Plate.
THE PLATE: A ROYAL TRADITION is an original work commissioned by The
Ontario Jockey Club especially for the 125th anniversary of the race and
written by Louis E. Cauz, veteran sports writer and commentator, author and
horse racing authority. Years in the making, the book recounts the story of
the great race itself, and the social history that surrounds it. Into the
description of each year's event, Cauz has deftly woven a history of the
great Canadian racing dynasties-and the people who participated in the
growth of the Queen's Plate and staked fortunes to win it."
Included in the Edition are chapters: The Pioneering Years, Origins, The
Seagram Years, An Epic to the Dancer, Plate Starters and Winners, Plate
Winning Jockeys, Plate Winning Trainers, Leading Sires, Evolution of Plate
Record Times, Ten Fastest Runnings of the Plate, Plate Attendance and
Wagering Handles 1950-84, Plate Presentaions, Jockey Club Executives
   1881-1984, and much, much more.
The The Plate: A Royal Tradition" hardcover Commemorative Book is in
   excellent condition.
