   1975 "My Three Hockey Players" (Gordie, Mark, & Marty Howe) Book   
      
      
   I have for sale the out-of-print, 1st edition hardcover book "My Three   
   Hockey Players" by Colleen Howe (1975). The 1st edtion contains 192 pages   
   including black and white photgraphs profiling the hockey careers of   
   Gordie, Mark, and Marty Howe.   
   Front Jacket Excerpt:   
   "Gordie Howe had been scoring goals in the National Hockey League when Joe   
   Louis was heavyweight champion; when Joe DiMaggio player center field for   
   the Yankees; when Johnny Lujack was still winning them for the Gipper; when   
   Betty Grable was the highest salaried woman in the world; and Ernest   
   Hemmingway was holed up in Havana, writing The Old Man And The Sea. And   
   twenty-odd years later, Gordie is still scoring goals. He is in Houston,   
   Texas where ice is something people think of in terms of tall glasses and   
   maraschino cherries. Gordie came out of retirement to play on the same   
   team with two of his sons, Mark and Marty.   
   In My Three Hockey Players, Colleen describes how the sport has changed,   
   from the lean years when her husband broke in to the years of exploding   
   riches when her sons signed. She covers the good and the bitter times, the   
   long seperations, the pressures-from management, fans, and other women. She   
   comments on the cruelty of ice hockey and what should be done about it.   
   Featured on the front cover is a 1974-75 action-photo of Gordie, Marty, and   
   Mark Howe, together, wearing their white with blue trim, Houston Aeros,   
   World Hockey Association uniforms.   
   The "My Three Hockey Players" 1st edition hardcover book is in MINT
