XPost: rec.collecting.sport.hockey, alt.marketplace.books       From: jrsinc@mnsi.net              1983 Ken Dryden's "The Game" 1st Edition Hardcover Book                     I have for sale the out-of-print 1st edition hardcover book "The Game" (A       reflective and thought-provoking look at a life in hockey) by Montreal       Canadiens' goaltender Ken Dryden (1983). This 284 page hardcover edition       contains 248 pages of text profiling the playing days of Ken Dryden,       with the Montreal Canadiens as well as his "Team Canada" performances.       Front Jacket Excerpt:       "A Philadelphia journalist who interviewed Ken Dryden was surprised by his       articulateness and his intelligence, and by how "different" he was. "How do       you relate to these guys?" he wispered, reffering to Dryden's Montreal       teammates. Answering that question is in this book Ken Dryden writes: "I       may seem different, as others may seem different from me. But together we       have a common passion. It has taken much of our time, and most of our       energy. It has shaped us. All of that we share. The rest are details." The       Game is a very different book from the usual hockey book... It does not       contain surefire tips for the young player. What it does contain is a       waelth of fasinating information about what life inside top-flight hockey       is really like, as seen through the eyes of an exceptionally perceptive and       thoughful observer."       The front jacket features a photo of Ken Dryden wearing his white, with red       and blue trim Montreal Canadiens uniform.       The Ken Dryden "The Game" 1st edition hardcover book is in MINT condition.       Price $25. US plus postage                     Please include your "postal mailing address" so I can calculate postage       costs to your destination. Thank you              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
