XPost: rec.collecting.sport.hockey, alt.marketplace.books, ont.forsale       From: jrsinc@mnsi.net              "Lowering The Boom: The Bobby Baun Story" 1st Edition Hardcover Book                     I have for sale the 1st edition, hardcover book "Lowering The Boom: The       Bobby Baun Story" by Bobby Baun (2000). The edition contains 269 pages       including black and white photographs profiling the hockey career of       Toronto Maple Leafs' defenceman, Bobby Baun.       Front Jacket Excerpt:       "Bobby Baun was the elite rearguard, one of the strongest players in NHL       history. Known for his devastating hip checks and aggressive defensive       play, Baun played a pivotal role in Leaf Cup wins. But it was Baun's       winning goal in overtime of game six of the 1964 Stanley Cup finals that       made him a legend. Carried off the ice on a stretcher in the third period       with what would later be determined to be a fractured leg, Baun insisted on       returning to the game, giving new meaning to the words determination an       courage. His rock-solid will helped send the Leafs on the road to their       third consecutive Cup. His goal ranks with Paul Hendersons' game-winner       against the Soviets in the 1972 Summit Series and Bobby Orr's spectacular       goal in the 1970 Cup-clincher against the St. Louis Blues as one of the       most memorable ever. How Baun broke his leg and the sequence of events       leading up to his famous goal have been inaccurately reported for over       thirty-five years. Now, for the first time in print, Baun tells us exactly       how his leg was broken, and how he courageously came back onto the ice and       launched himself into Stanley Cup history. Baun also take us beyond the       legendary moment and gives us a behind-the scenes story of those Leaf glory       days."       The "Lowering The Boom: The Bobby Baun Story" 1st edition hardcover book is       in MINT condition.       Price $20. US plus postage                     Note: Photo available upon request                     Please include your "postal mailing address" so I can calculate postage       costs to your destination.
