Here in London, besides our one-and-only       local channel (CFPL) broadcasting on VHF 10, there really isin't       anything being broadcast on VHF within 100 miles that isin't also       available on a closer UHF channel.              > One problem with fancy antennas, is if your antenna is too       > directional, you'll need a rotator.              Or you can put up an array (two or more, each facing a fixed direction).              Go to TVfool.com and plug in your location (as specific as you want to       be) and you'll get a chart and compass graph showing all the       transmitters within about 150 miles of your location.              > OTA - be careful what you wish for. I've downloaded       some good TV series (the new Sherlock on the BBC, and "Miss Fishers       Murder Mysteries" from Australia. We won't be getting those same       episodes here in Canada for at least another year.              Second thing, I've already been experimenting with OTA last summer /       fall. Tropospheric ducting was phenomenal. In the evening, I was       picking up stations from Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, Youngstown,       Akron, and Erie PA. And that was with a cheapo outside antenna and no       amplifier.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
