   As I pointed out, the NYT paywall can be gotten around by resetting   
   their cookies or changing browsers. As far as I can see, cookies are the   
   only way they can have any kind of open "portal." If they start charging   
   to look at any article at all, no one will go there, and no one will see   
   the ads. The Washington Post is still free.
