   A protest generaly is peaceful. But when the government rubs salt in the   
   wound instead of trying to appease protesters, it raises the   
   determination of protestors and when they don't see any success, they   
   increase the level of anger.   
      
   So it is when you have multiple successive protests that things   
   generally get bad. (unless it involves the stanley cup)
