   After almost 40 years of paying Bell Canada and obscene amount of money   
   for home phone service, I decided to drop them in May. Contrary to what   
   Bell implied, the Earth axis didn't shift, Asteroids didn't pummel Earth   
   to dust. And Global cooling has NOT occurred.   
      
   I did get three snail mails from Bell offering all sorts of discounts to   
   come back, and they would forgive me for leaving. They will reward me by   
   almost price matching my new carrier. However at close to $60/month I   
   felt there was no real value added with Bell.   
      
   Bell is a dinosaur, last time I had a technical issue I went through   
   their voice non-recognition phone system, and 45 minutes on hold truly   
   was the last straw. Their webpage self-help was sluggish and often went   
   down while trying to do simple tasks.   
      
   Well buh-bye Bell! My phones work just fine without you.
