   Unfortunately, it's not entirely a dumb one, either: in their respective   
   territories Bell is 'the' phone company and Rogers is 'the' cable company,   
   meaning that most people are already their customers for a service other   
   than internet and will receive promotional material (including bundling   
   offers) with their bills, separately via mail or telephone calls.  Few   
   realize that there are alternatives beyond the local duopoly, let alone that   
   much better deals - and service - are out there.  Even after bundling   
   discounts, the duopoly often have mich higher prices than less limited   
   offerings from competitors and essentially they get away with it because   
   people only compare the two against each other.
