XPost: can.infobahn       From: Tony@TheDeli.Sandwich              Back in the days of film an exciter lamp with a slit was used to reproduce       the soundtrack at 24 frames a second. 70mm film which was rare had 6       soundtracks. Today most movie theaters have moved to Blu-ray discs.       Projectionists used to make good money (because film used to be nitrate and       explosive) and were some of the stupidest bastards alive. Kuldip Singh       Samra's brother (Jaspol) used to work at the Carleton and the Eaton Center.       He was more fucked in the head than Kuldip. They could have done a movie       about the projectionists at the Eaton center. Shitplex (Cineplex) had the       worst equipment imaginable some of it was homemade by Carl Murin. They       actually started with all 16 mm projectors because they couldn't get first       rate films when the company started. Famous Players had all the money and       the people with the most security all had the jobs at Famous.              Some Guy wrote:              > Is this why I can't find a legit cam-rip of "Cloud Atlas" on the       > torrents?       >       > Note that these guys were trying to capture a better version of the       > audio track for these movies by using "receivers" - ?       >       > See - I told you that the quality of audible audio in the modern movie       > experience sucks big-time.       >       > I'm curious about how or why the audio track is broadcast in movie       > theaters.
