   Hm. This group seems to have gone down the toilet like most of the rest of   
   Usenet. Unfortunately.   
      
   Anyway, an update: Shaw's reps did end up helping me solve our problem of   
   our PVR not recognizing the external hard drive. It turned out to be the   
   the PVR not liking the enclosure for the drive. Apparently PVRs can be   
   sensitive to the electronics in the enclosure, so you can't just go and buy   
   whatever's on the shelf at Tiger Direct.   
      
   The problem got solved by using an enclosure and drive recommended by Shaw.
