   Why would you hope anything? $5000 is the maximum amount a court can   
   award, and there's absolutely no incentive to pay that until a court   
   orders such, better to represent yourself and see if the judge will   
   knock it down.

   This is where having a lawyer is useful, since the way the Canadian law   
   is written, the $5000 cap can actually cover multiple offenses. Neat.
