   Position Title:  Web Specialist   
      
      
      
   Term:   October 27, 2008 to March 6, 2009   
      
               Number of days effort:  80   
      
      
      
   Terms of Reference:   
   ·          Works with the Project Manager, Web Services to develop, track   
   and achieve project objectives and deliverables.   
      
   ·          Designs solutions to meet requirements as communicated by senior   
   staff   
      
   ·          Codes HTML to intranet or ottawa.ca look & feel requirements   
      
   ·          Uses the features of the content management system to create   
   dynamic content for the intranet.   
      
   ·          Using the detailed requirements, designs web sites that address   
   user needs.   
      
   ·          Tests that the new or modified web sites function properly.   
      
   ·          Develops support documentation following project guidelines and   
   templates   
      
      
      
   Qualifications:   
      
   A minimum of 3 years experience designing, developing and supporting of web   
   sites.   
      
   The ideal candidate will be skilled in web-based development with knowledge   
   and experience with the following:   
      
   ·          Experience in analyzing web site functional requirements   
      
   ·          Experience designing and coding web sites in HTML and CSS   
      
   ·          Experience in web site user interface design   
      
   ·          Knowledge of web site accessibility standards   
      
   ·          Experience in testing web sites   
      
   ·          Candidate must be self-sufficient and have good English oral and   
   written communications skills   
      
   ·          Candidate must be able to provide knowledge transfer in the way   
   of documentation and information for in-house staff to be able to maintain &   
   support developed work   
      
   ·          Experience in coding with Javascript and with at least one other   
   scripting language such as ASP or Oracle Universal Content Management   
   systems IDOC scripting   
      
      
      
   Experience using a number of technologies including:   
      
   ·          HTML   
      
   ·          CSS   
      
   ·          ASP (Microsoft) or IDOC (Oracle Content Management) or some other   
   scripting language (other than Javascript)   
      
   ·          Javascript   
      
   ·          Dreamweaver   
      
   ·          Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)   
      
   ·          Adobe Photoshop Elements   
      
   ·          Adobe Acrobat Standard   
      
   ·          Previous experience with web content management system an asset,   
   particularly experience with the Oracle Content Management toolset
