   Scope of work/responsibilities:   
      
   Our client is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Green Benchmark of   
   their current usage/situation.  The objective of this benchmark is to   
   measure where the Information Services Department is today, in its Green   
   (environmental, climate, greenhouse gas (CO2) emission) endeavors. Candidate   
   will: 1) provide a baseline of the current "Green" status of the IT   
   department, including its technologies, policies, and its "Green" position;   
   2) determine where our client's IT "Green" standing in relation to   
   comparative peers/organizations; 3) identity possible cost savings and   
   environmental/green IT initiatives; 4) identify and allow for reduction in   
   waste or energy use; and 5) provide a foundation for future "Green IT"   
   measurements.   
      
   The Benchmark will provide a comparison of client's IT Benchmark to that of   
   peers/other organizations; will provide an executive overview and summary of   
   the results; as well as a detailed breakdown; will utilize power management   
   data, energy consumption data, and Printer, PC and server (and data centre)   
   data, and will also factor in our client's IT Green policies, and corporate   
   (Green) policies and their maturity in relation to the Green IT Benchmark   
   and peer comparison. This is not an inclusive list, and the benchmark may   
   very well include other factors as presented and included by the successful   
   proponent.  Please note that due to the number of on-going and current   
   projects, staff time is at a premium, and inventive approaches to data   
   gathering are sometimes required.  Finally, the IT Green Benchmark is to   
   outline or present areas best addressed for future benefit. Each of these   
   deliverables must be presented in report form as well as verbal discussion   
   with (at least) our client's project sponsor.
