   PROGRAMMER ANALYST (Several Positions)  - 1 Year Govt. Contract to start -   
   Location Ottawa   
      
      
      
   Required to work as part of a Development Team in support of the daily   
   production processing, as well as developing new or enhanced COBOL programs   
   or interfaces. The programmer analysts will also be required to work with   
   the Analysis and Foundations Group on understanding business use cases and   
   assisting in preparing or reviewing high-level design, system use case   
   documents. From these documents the programmer analysts' may prepare   
   technical level design documents, detail level design documents, etc. The   
   programmer analysts may be required to prepare and/or conduct system   
   walkthroughs to Analysis and Foundations Group, Production Support and/or   
   Business groups.   
      
      
      
   Responsibilities could include but are not limited to:   
      
   ·          Create and modify code and software.   
      
   ·          Create and modify screens and reports.   
      
   ·          Gather and analyze data for the conduct of studies to establish   
   the technical and economic feasibility of proposed computer systems, and for   
   the development of functional and system design specifications.   
      
   ·          Design methods and procedures for small computer systems, and/or   
   sub-system of larger systems.   
      
   ·          Develop, test and migrate computer systems and/or sub-systems of   
   larger systems.   
      
   ·          Produce forms, manuals, programs, data files, and procedures for   
   systems and/or applications.   
      
   ·         Develop requirements, feasibility, cost, system design, and   
   specification documents for systems.   
      
   ·         Analyze and recommend alternatives and options for solutions.   
      
   ·         Develop technical specifications for systems development, design   
   and implementation.   
      
      
      
   Specialties could include but are not limited to:   
      
   Experience in using the following software products/standards:   
      
   COBOL, CICS, DB2, Netron/CAP, Viasoft, MQ-Series, Endevor, Main-Frame   
   Express, TCP/IP, CADEX, ANSI, and EDIFACT technologies, as well as the   
   standard developer Windows 2000 workstation software including MS Office   
   Professional.   
      
      
      
   Language Requirements - English Only   
      
   Govt of Canada Reliability Clearance is required
