   *Title: Senior Transportation Planner / Modeler - East GTA*

   *Duties and Responsibilities:*   
      
      
   As part of a transportation planning team, the successful applicant will:   
      
   · *Take a lead role in the analysis of travel forecasts and traffic   
   modeling for a broad variety of transportation planning projects   
   including transportation master plans, major new corridor studies,   
   transit planning studies and land development projects;*   
      
   *· **Analyze and evaluate alternative road, transit and travel demand   
   management strategies;*   
      
   · Prepare technical memos, reports and proposals;   
      
   · Supervise and participate in the collection of traffic count data and   
   preparation of inventories of road facilities;   
      
   · Train and mentor junior staff; and   
      
   · Undertake research and analysis of land use, demographic and travel data.   
      
      
   Qualifications   
      
   · Degree/diploma from a recognized University/College program in   
   Engineering, Planning or related field with a minimum of eight years   
   related experience, preferably in a consulting environment;   
      
   · Strong working knowledge of transportation planning principles,   
   processes and practices;   
      
   · Working experience with transportation planning models such as Emme/2,   
   Emme/3, System II, TransCad is essential. Experience with   
   micro-simulation models such as VISSIM, VISIM, Paramics, etc. desirable.   
      
   · Strong interpersonal skills;   
      
   · Well-developed computer and analytical skills;   
      
   · Strong report writing and presentation skills; and   
      
   · Valid driver’s license and availability of vehicle for site visits,   
   meetings, etc.
