   IT Production Management Support Manager - Ottawa  -  fulltime immediate   
      
   Our client is creating this role to support the development team.  You and   
   your team are basically the backend resource for this time-critical   
   financial application.  Remedy or other Incident Management systems   
   experience a must.  There is an external vendor who manages the daily batch   
   processing that you also need to oversee - so any experience with external   
   vendor partnerships is a must.   
      
   You will have a team of 3-4 people who report to you.  This is not a   
   position where the client is looking to promote someone from within or from   
   another company into a management position but a position where you are   
   filling in gaps in the management team, off loading work from them -   
   something you have already been doing for a few years.  They will be relying   
   on your expertise to keep the OS (multiple platforms) fine tuned and working   
   24/7.  Second level support calls are to be managed.   
      
   So much more to this position.  You are the go-between for the development,   
   applications and business teams including management and are responsible for   
   reporting, system tuning and maintenance, upgrades, metrics, system   
   improvements, etc.   This is not a help-desk type support position nor   
   should your background be from this area.   
      
   You have managed development and support for large, critical applications.   
   Have 2+ years IT Production Support management and 5+ years in support of   
   same.  Change Control Process, monitoring and escalation issues in   
   production services environment.  ITIL manager certified or implementation   
   and the client would be head over heels with you.   
      
   The client has been anxiously looking for someone to no avail.  If we were   
   in Toronto we would have a hundred and one applicants.  Client is in Ottawa.   
   Good way to expand your business horizons on your resume.  A superb team and

   Must have batch processing experience - someone from an EDS or similar   
   background would be ideal.
