   Job Description:   
      
   Our customer is implementing the Google Search Appliance (GSA) on the   
   departmental public facing Web site.   
   The consultant will work with their Implementation and Application Support   
   Teams to provide technical leadership in   
   the   
   analysis, design, optimization and support phases of the implementation.   
   The consultant will also be required to provide advanced programmer/developer   
   support to the implementation team.   
      
   This will involve the following activities:   
      
   •	Lead/mentor the GSA team in performing requirements analysis and developing   
   specifications for designing   
   and   
   developing post-implementation search customizations;   
   •	Develop, maintain and monitor a detailed project plan;   
   •	Track/oversee post-implementation phase development activities;   
   •	Provide guidance and recommendations in best practices/methods in search   
   engine optimization;   
   •	Develop technical maintenance strategy documentation;   
   •	Develop, design and test custom solutions for the automated content   
   migration processes, as well as   
   performance and quality assurance testing strategies.   
      
   Mandatory Qualifications:   
      
   •	Google Search Appliance certification;   
   •	Expert level knowledge of search and information retrieval techniques and   
   technologies;   
   •	Expert level knowledge of search engine algorithms including indexing,   
   ranking criteria and technical   
   considerations;   
   •	3 years experience with Google Search Appliance implementations;   
   •	Experience leading the development and implementation of at least two   
   large-scale full-cycle   
   implementations   
   •	Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) methods and best practices   
   •	Proficient with all aspects of Web development, including JavaScript, XHTML,   
   CSS and Government of   
   Canada   
   Standards for Common Look and Feel on the Internet (CLF 2.0)   
   •	Knowledge of VB.NET or C# .NET   
   •	Knowledge of ASP, ASP.NET, XML   
   •	Experience using Visual Studio 2008 and Visual SourceSafe   
   •	Experience writing technical documentation   
   •	Enhanced Reliability security clearance
