From: AlanBaggett@volcanomail.com              Canada Revenue Agency Protects Criminals in Police Investigation? : CRA SOTW              Revenue Canada refused to cooperate with contraband wine investigation       Posted on 5/13/2015 8:56:00 AM by Trudie Mason              It's a mystery to Montreal police why they got no cooperation from Revenue       Canada as they investigated the contraband wine ring they busted with raids       and arrests yesterday.              Investigators say they went to the agency seeking tax information on the       suspects. They were startled when federal lawyers told a judge the details       could not be divulged for reasons of national interest.              The judge didn't buy the argument and ordered the information handed over.              Ottawa then appealed.              Eventually, investigators gathered enough evidence from other sources to move       on the ring, which they say was operating out of a winery in South Shore       Kahnawake.              ----------------------------------------------------------       Miss a Tax Tale Miss a lot!       Visit the CRA SOTW Library at http://canada.revenue.agency.angelfire.com              ------------------------------------------------------------       Alan Baggett - http://www.taxcollectorsbible.com/ - Tax Collector's Bible              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
