From: johnturmel@yahoo.com              TURMEL: Judge Mandeville rules McConnell Quash before trial              JCT: Ray was in Quebec Superior Court with Tim McConnell in       Gatineau today. Madame Justice Mandeville presiding.              She ruled that his Quash Motion had to be heard before       scheduling any jury trial because if he wins, we don't have       to have a trial. Great. Nice to have it official so we can       cite it for other accuseds.              There was as new Crown Attorney who just got the file two       days ago and is under the impression he has to file a Notice       of Constitutional Question. So back on June 20 to get that       hearing organized once she's up to speed.              Luc Paquette is back before her on Monday trying to get his       bail money switch to a bond. Lucky for him, when the Crown       withdrew the heavy charges last time, they mentioned that he       was just a small grower, not worth the time for a heavy       chase.              Should be good reason to give the small grower his big       bail back.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
