I have no idea how you leapt to that conclusion.

Parents have responsibilities for their children, not property rights.

My post stated that parents should exercise restraint, rather than beating
children, as a good example to both children and to other adults.

Physical punishment of children should be a last resort, after all other
measures have been considered. One of the considerations is whether
police, child welfare bodies and courts would agree with the decision.

In one case I mentioned a court seemed to feel that it was legal,
as a way to reinforce that slamming a car door on a siblings hand is not
acceptable behaviour. The cries of the child with the injured hand may
have been a bigger factor in trigging 911 calls than the child who was
   spanked.

Bullying is about abuse of people with less power. Children, and adults
need to learn and bear in mind that everyone can be held accountable for
their conduct. They can't use force in interpersonal issues, except in
   very limited situations.

Everybody has rights, often those rights conflict.
