   Billionaire Madoff Investor Found Dead

   Palm Beach billionaire Jeffry M. Picower, who is alleged to have made   
   billions of dollars from Bernard L. Madoff's vast Ponzi scheme, was found   
   dead at the bottom of his pool Sunday afternoon, according to the Palm Beach   
   Post.   
      
   Don Taylor, acting battalion chief for Palm Beach Fire Rescue, told the   
   paper that Mr. Picower's wife and housekeeper called 911 at about noon on   
   Sunday after finding him at the bottom of the pool.   
      
   When rescue workers arrived at the home at 1410 South Ocean Blvd., Barbara   
   Picower and the housekeeper had already pulled him from the water, but he   
   was not breathing.   
      
   "We had no pulse and he was not breathing on his own," Mr. Taylor said. "We   
   worked on him to try and stabilize him as best we could." Palm Beach Police   
   said in a press release that Picower was pronounced dead at 1:30. Officers   
   are investigating the death as a drowning.   
      
   Mr. Picower, 67, is the former New York lawyer and accountant who had   
   billions of dollars tied up with Mr. Madoff's investment scheme. In May, the   
   trustee in charge of liquidating the Madoff estate has sued Mr. Picower, his   
   wife and their local Picower Foundation claiming they benefited from Mr.   
   Madoff's Ponzi scheme for more than 20 years, earning more than $5 billion.
