It's easy to grasp the idea of unions because I have friends who have been
   working
the same job since 1981. Police officers and fire fighers are union members
   too
and I'm proud to count many of them as friends. In Ontario, if you are a fire
figher, you are subject to mandatory retirement at the age of 60. The law for
everyone else says there is no limit. That's because it's a job that takes the
health of the people who do it. My company, because I'm not union, can
   employ me
until I'm dead, if I convice them that I'm of use.

And when it comes to pensions? Fuck! Make your own.

That's all I've ever had. And I'm like most Canadians.

Perhaps I should be like that waitress in Quebec who spent the election in
   Vegas,
was elected to Parliament in a riding where she didn't speak the language, and
   now
has a $160 K job and a pension in the future?

   Naw.
