It's because Vic Toews was being spanked online.              The Bill is troubling; it does away with all due process.              The point of this is the Government wants two things;              1. Full access to everyone's Internet usage, without a warrant. They       can't tap your phone, open your postal mail, enter your homes and go       through your belongings WITHOUT A WARRANT!!              2. They want us to pay for the surveillance, the Bill says Internet       Service Providers (ISPs) must install the equipment on their own, to spy       for the Government. The expense of this equipment WILL BE ADDED TO OUR       Internet fees (Canada has the highest fees, and the lowest speeds and       bandwidth per $ of the 1st World)              Vic Toews, will say it's because of pedophiles, but it's really because       of the recording industry. The Gov't couldn't sell an early Bill asking       ISPs to spy on Music downloads, so they decided to try fear mongering to       force it through the House. The Bill was introduced as "Lawful Access"       but was renamed to;"protecting children from Internet predators"              It should be renamed; "Surrender your civil liberties", Why must the       Internet be the only place that due process is surrendered?              Public Safety Minister Vic Toews introduced the bill to parliament and       faced immediate criticism, not least for telling one political opponent       of the bill that he "can either stand with us or with the child       pornographers."                            --       Darrell Larose       _____________________________________________       web: http://DarrellLarose.ca       blog: http://DarrellLarose.wordpress.com       _____________________________________________              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
