|    TURMEL: Court nixes Crown plea to reject    |
|    11 Sep 14 12:11:51    |
From: johnturmel@yahoo.com              JCT: Ray Turmel had filed an application to appeal to the       Supreme Court the Quebec Court of Appeal's decision to let       stand two precedents that had been won by the Crown in       refusing to hear Ray's Quash Motions.              The Crown had sent a request that the Application had been       mooted when they produced no evidence to allow Ray to be       found not guilty. Without a charge outstanding against him,       he had no standing to appeal those precedents any more.              I'd never heard of requesting that something be rejected for       filing. The Federal Court Crown had requested the 26 appeals       not be accepted for filing and yet that court did accept       them              And now, the Registrar of the Supreme Court just wrote Ray       to say that his Application had been accepted, No. 36037!              So now the Crown has 30 days to explain why the precedents       that were won should not be overturned.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
