XPost: soc.culture.canada, can.general, talk.politics.misc       XPost: alt.journalism.newspapers       From: dalton@nfld.com              There is a federal election coming up in Canada shortly.              Much of the party leaders' focuses, or at least what has been covered,       have been insular, that is, trying to deal just with voters issues       within Canada, and sometimes in the short term.              So what are the views of each major party leader and any       minor party leaders on the future of Canada on the world       stage, including in the areas of diplomacy, peacemaking,       human rights, humanitarian assistance and global       environmental standards?              Furthermore, for both within Canada and for Canada on       the world stage, what is their long term vision rather       than short term election promise get elected vision?       That is, say if they hoped to be in power for three       consecutive terms what do they hope to accomplish       in that time, in their wildest dreams?              In short, which one has the makings of a true statesman       and not merely a salesman? Such could tip the balance       in this tight race.              David              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
