Hooky, thanks for sharing .. It is these types of stories which I love to
   hear.

I have one for you not military related but hunting related.
Years ago my ex and I were headed up hunting for moose.
On the way up we hit a fox. Silver tipped fox.
There was no way to afford it ..it was night time.
Well we stopped and found out the fox was in good shape(fur wise) so we
took it with us. I had it made into a rug and eventually after some years
hung above the fireplace it was sent to Germany with relatives.

Picture this, years later. Ex husband and friend coming back from hunting .
Skunked no meat at all. But they did find a fox on the side of the road
   and
brought it back. On the way home they had to stop and have a sleep in the
   camper.
Fox was wrapped and in back of camper.

As soon as I saw what was suppose to be a fox I knew it was a bushy tailed
   dog.
I never let those guys forget the night they slept with a dead dog.

I did feel sorry for the owners. They will never know what happened to
   their pet.
