    I had the pleasure of cycling this past Sunday with a club member Linda   
   Hamilton. Linda was hit by a car that crossed the road 21 years ago, and she   
   lost one leg above the knee, and her other leg has parts transplanted from   
   the severed leg.   
      
   She is a phenomenal athlete, and she has been in the Disabled Olympics a   
   number of times, being sixth or seventh ranked in the world in cross country   
   skiing.   
      
   We were talking about Lance Armstrong and his difficulties and how it seemed   
   unfair that he could be tarred as a cheater some 6 or more years after the   
   samples were taken, and he had passed every test given him subsequently.   
      
   Linda had said that three people who medalled ahead of her had been   
   disqualified within the year after the Olympics for taking steroids -an   
   American medalist and two Ukranians. She sighed that if they had been tested   
   at the time she might have been third or fourth instead of sixth or seventh.   
      
   The ride we were on was 64 kilometers, at about 18 kilometers per hour, and   
   she rides a hand cycle, as she can not use her legs to pedal.   
      
   Linda has represented us in winter and summer olympics around the world in   
   wheel chair events.   
      
   My wife is trying to find out how to get her out waterskiing with us.   
      
   She is a retired teacher of special needs children, and she has been a   
   motivational speaker.
