Alan, I do       understand the economics of web sites, and I'm not passing comment,       other than to give an opinion, which was solicited.              Secondly, there seemed to be less and less activity on the forum that       interested me and I rarely bumped into anyone I knew (maybe too many       army and navy brats clogging up an air force site).:):)              For me, the password just seemed to be the straw that broke the       proverbial camel's back. It was instituted without prior warning or       explanation. I could understand using a password as a means of       protecting personal information in a database, but the forum is the only       site location that seems to require a password. The membership section       is freely available to anyone. What's to protect in a communications       environment? Again, I could understand the need for a password if the       forum was being inundated with commercial posts, pornography, or spam,       but that didn't seem to be the case. Rather than make a big issue out       of it, I simply voted with my feet.              Anyway, that's just my $0.02(CDN) worth.              Paul              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
