|    A Prayer For Our American Allies and Our    |
|    19 Feb 06 07:00:34    |
From: niteshift@shaw.ca              It was an easy thing to do....       I'd heard on the evening news of the three American       Marines who'd been killed while serving in Iraq and       it occurred to me that it could've, just as easily, been       any of our brothers, or sons, or fathers, or uncles,       or cousins, or any other sanguiness relation, distant       or close.       ........and my heart broke.              I remembered the joy I felt after the return of my father       after his completion of service, wherever -including       circumstances.-that was. And I think of the despair       and grief that may've occurred had he not.              Currently, we have sons and daughters who are in       harm's way...just like our American brethern. For       them, and our own, I don't think it would be       inappropriate to take a moment out of our lives       to reflect on our own good fortune and perhaps       offer up a prayer for those who have chosen to       willingly sacrifice theirs so that we may do so.              I have a prayer that works for me. It goes like this:              "Heavenly Father God....Look down upon us with       Your compassion and mercy...Protect us all and keep       us safe from harm...Lord, hear our Prayer...       Heavenly Father God, grant us strenght and wisdom       to cope with those challenges thrown at us from those       who wish us harm, and deliver us from those who       wish us harm...Lord, hear our Prayer. We ask this       through Christ, our Lord's name, Amen!"              It's a simple thing to do...just think of our sons and       daughters in harm's way, as well as our friends and       neighbours to our South, and take a moment out of       your life....No one has to know about it...       Just keep the faith...for them....for us...for those       who were before us...and for those who are after us...              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
