From: dancetimedj@REMOVEhotmail.com              As Gary Slurred:       > I tried Roller Skating more than once. One time I was roller skating       > and       > thought I was on 'real' skates and leaned on a turn....that's what you do       > you 'leannnnn.....on the, or any turn'. But not in Roller Skating. The       > wheels will let go...they don't like leaning....they want to stay       > VERTICAL!              That is the same reason I can't ice skate or roller blade... I got used to       Roller Skating, and that is the only way I know. Its a separate movement       from in-line.              > Firstly I was surprised. Secondly I was embarrassed....how could I let       > this happen. It was then I decided this Roller Skating is for girls! And       > now       > I know, Rasta too! :)              You are right.. The place was full of girls.. Part of the reason I was       interested.. Its the same way Hockey attracts males.. They are located in       Taverns, glued to Big Screens, up late, red eyed in the morning for work, a       bunch of beer-belly spectators.. Well, I have noticed while the games are       on.. the malls are full of lonely women.. I go shopping..              > I will teach you how to skate on ice Rasta. First I would clad you in       > all the hockey gear. Helmet, hockey gloves, elbow pads, hockey pants with       > rear end protection and shin pads. You will be invincible! And you will       > learn to skate! I guarantee it.              The falling isn't what keeps me off the ice. If I was that worried about       minor injuries, I wouldn't drink. Its not the Padding I need.. Its the       Layering. I don't do cold. Add something I can't do, and how do you intend       to keep me out in the cold for ten minutes to show me part of it? I went       out on the warmest Sat to take pictures of the ice sculptures of Winterlude       in Ottawa. Grabbed a few pictures of the thousands on the Rideau Canal, but       the closest I came to saying I was on the longest skating rink, was       short-cutting across it, rather than going over the Laurier Bridge.. I       don't think I want to learn how to skate. I have skates.. good ones too,       with lots of ankle support. My feet still get cold, and I skate funny. Kinda       like fishing.. not much fun. (that's another story)              > Oh, heck. Rasta, where is the cube ice? I think I will have a rum! I'll       > teach you how to skate later.              Hmm ICE !!.... I'll teach you how to drink rum later. "We don't need no       stinkin' ice!"                     BTW.. The Dog and Pony group elected me "Pal of the Month" ..
